Obverse: Portrait of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, founder of the Turkish Republic, alongside a star and crescent. Reverse: The Ottoman composer and mystic Itrî (Buhurizade Mustafa Efendi), one of the great figures of classical Turkish music, surrounded by traditional musical instruments.

This eighth series of the Turkish Lira, in circulation from 2005 until its gradual replacement by the ninth series, dedicates its higher value banknotes to prominent figures of Ottoman and Republican culture. A common banknote for those who collect Turkish issues from the last two decades.
