Banknotes of Vietnam

Vietnam is one of the very few countries in the world with its entire series in polymer. It hasn't printed a single paper banknote since 2003, which makes it a benchmark country for those who collect plastic.

Ho Chi Minh everywhere

His portrait occupies the obverse of every denomination without exception. The reverses traverse the country: Ha Long Bay, his birthplace in Nghe An, the Temple of Literature in Hanoi, textile factories.

The dong and its zeros

The highest denomination is 500,000 dong, about seventeen euros. The low values—200, 500 dong—are among the cheapest banknotes you can buy in the world, and they remain legal tender.
