100 Sudanese pounds banknote, issued in January 2019 by the Central Bank of Sudan, cataloged as Pick 77a. Certified by PMG with grade 64 EPQ, exceptional paper quality, uncirculated.

Obverse: the Nubian pyramids of Meroë, built by the ancient rulers of the Kingdom of Kush. Reverse: the Merowe hydroelectric dam, inaugurated in 2009 on the Nile River, alongside the emblem of the Central Bank of Sudan. The watermark again shows the characteristic bustard of the series.

By contrasting the portrait of an archaeological site more than two thousand years old with a large contemporary infrastructure, this banknote summarizes the contrast between the pharaonic past of Nubia and modern Sudan, an added attraction for collectors of African banknotes.
