1000 Surinamese gulden banknote, issued by the Central Bank of Suriname (Centrale Bank van Suriname) on January 1, 2000, Pick 151, PMG 65 EPQ certified, uncirculated.

Obverse: A royal flycatcher next to a beetle and the national coat of arms of Suriname, on a background with plant motifs and the outline of the country. Reverse: The Orchidaceae violacea orchid flower depicted over the Central Bank of Suriname headquarters building in Paramaribo.

It belongs to the Surinamese gulden series with Amazonian flora and fauna themes that circulated until the 2004 currency reform, when the gulden was replaced by the Surinamese dollar; its high denomination and naturalistic design make it attractive to collectors of bird and flower banknotes.
