Guatemala Set 5/10/20 Quetzales P122A/P123A/P124 2023-2024 UNC

Set of three banknotes of 5, 10, and 20 quetzales issued by the Bank of Guatemala, uncirculated (UNC), cataloged as Pick 122A, Pick 123A, and Pick 124. All three banknotes are included: the 5 quetzales with an approval date of March 15, 2023, and the 10 and 20 quetzales dated February 7, 2024.

5 quetzales — Obverse: portrait of General Justo Rufino Barrios, President of the Republic between 1873 and 1885. Reverse: a teacher with her students in a classroom.
10 quetzales — Obverse: portrait of General Miguel García Granados, President between 1871 and 1873. Reverse: the 1872 session of the National Legislative Assembly.
20 quetzales — Obverse: portrait of Dr. Mariano Gálvez, founding father of independence and Head of State of Guatemala in the Central American Federation. Reverse: the signing of the Act of Independence of Central America.

The three low denominations of the current series, featuring the common design of a quetzal in flight, a founding father over a stepped pyramid, and Mayan iconography. Together, they cover three moments in the country's history, from the independence of 1821 to the Liberal Reform of 1871, and are a simple way to start or complete a Guatemala collection alongside the high denominations.
