Scottish 20-pound sterling banknote, issued by The Royal Bank of Scotland as part of the Ilay series, Pick 354e, PMG 66 EPQ certified: exceptional paper quality, no restoration or pressing, uncirculated.

Obverse: portrait of Lord Ilay, the bank's first governor in the 18th century, alongside The Royal Bank of Scotland's coat of arms and the promise to pay characteristic of Scottish banknotes. Reverse: Brodick Castle, on the Isle of Arran, former residence of the Dukes of Hamilton.

With a serial number correlative to other very close specimens, this banknote is part of a small lot of low series from the same issue, a feature appreciated by those who collect for numbering curiosities.
