Obverse: Portrait of the astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus, alongside a stylized representation of a quadrant and the heliocentric system he formulated in his work "De revolutionibus orbium coelestium." Reverse: Historic Polish coins and an additional fragment of the heliocentric scheme, also alluding to Copernicus's role as the author of a treatise on coinage.

Copernicus, born in Toruń in 1473, is one of the figures most celebrated by Poland in its numismatics for his decisive contribution to modern astronomy. This limited edition polymer commemorative banknote appeals to collectors of commemorative issues as well as those interested in the history of science.
