Mauritanian 1000-ouguiya banknote, polymer, issued by the Central Bank of Mauritania, dated 2014, Pick 19, certified PMG 66 EPQ (Gem Uncirculated), exceptional paper quality, no restoration or pressing.

Obverse: a composition of geometric and ornamental motifs of Saharan origin, with the name of the issuing bank in Arabic. Reverse: a bowl with fish, a camel, a traditional tent, and the mud mosque of Tichit, an ancient caravan city declared a World Heritage Site.

The Mauritanian monetary reform of 2014 introduced polymer and this iconography focused on the desert, caravan trade, and fishing, the three historical pillars of the country's economy. A banknote of interest for those who collect Saharan and Maghreb polymer issues.
