Jamaica 5 dollar banknote, Bank of Jamaica, 1985, Pick 70a, PMG 25 certified, circulated, with pronounced folds but intact.

Obverse: portrait of Norman Manley, lawyer and statesman, co-founder of the Jamaican nationalist movement. Reverse: the old Parliament building in Kingston, also called Headquarters House or Hibbert House, with banana bunches, the coat of arms and a crocodile among the decorative motifs.

Manley founded the People's National Party and was Jamaica's first chief minister before independence; his son Michael Manley would later become prime minister and appears on another denomination of the same series. An affordable piece to start a collection of the first Jamaican dollars issued after independence.
