20,000 Indonesian Rupiah banknote, issued by Bank Indonesia in 1998/2002, Pick 138e, certified PMG 65 EPQ: exceptional paper quality, no restoration or pressing, uncirculated.

Obverse: portrait of Ki Hajar Dewantara, founder of Indonesian national education, accompanied by the image of the Hindu god Ganesha, a deity associated with knowledge and overcoming obstacles. Reverse: a scene of school activity in a classroom, in line with the educational theme of the banknote.

The presence of Ganesha in a Muslim-majority country generated some controversy at the time and contributed to this design being withdrawn from circulation in 2008, making it a highly sought-after piece by collectors of numismatic curiosities from Southeast Asia.
