50 Haitian gourde banknote, issued by the Banque de la République d'Haïti, dated 2014, commemorating the bicentennial of independence (1804-2004), Pick 274e, certified PMG 67 EPQ (Superb Gem Uncirculated), exceptional paper quality, no restoration or pressing.

Obverse: Portrait of General François Capois, known as "Capois-la-Mort" for his bravery in the Battle of Vertières, with inscriptions in French and Haitian Creole and the Phrygian cap as a symbol of liberty. Reverse: Fort Jalousière, one of the fortifications built after independence to defend the country from a possible French colonial return.

Although printed in 2014, the design pays homage to the 1804-2004 bicentennial and the protagonists of Haitian independence, the first of a nation born from a revolt of enslaved people. It is of interest to those who collect Caribbean notaphily and the memory of American independence processes.
