Obverse: portrait of Mariano Gálvez, jurist and head of state of Guatemala in the 19th century, in front of the Mayan temple of Tikal, with a quetzal in flight at the top. Reverse: the signing of the Central American Act of Independence, surrounded by Mayan decorative motifs.
