Dominican Republic 10 Cents Gold banknote, undated 1961 issue, Pick 86s, PMG 64 EPQ certified. This is a SPECIMEN note, printed without legal tender for presentation and archiving, and not a normal circulation banknote.

Obverse: the Banco de Reservas building, with the red overprint "MUESTRA SIN VALOR" (SPECIMEN NO VALUE) characteristic of these notes. Reverse: the head of the Taíno cacique Enriquillo, wearing a headband that says "Libertad" (Liberty) and feathers, next to the Dominican coat of arms.

This small fractional denomination in gold pesos circulated briefly in the early 1960s, in the last years of the Trujillo era, and specimen notes like this were reserved for correspondent banks and official archives, so their mintage is much lower than that of normal banknotes. A rarity within Dominican fractional currency, rarely seen outside of specialized auctions.
