Cuba 1986 P-107a PMG Choice UNC 64 3 Pesos

3-peso Cuban banknote from the National Bank of Cuba, dated 1986, Pick 107a, certified by PMG with a grade of 64, Choice Uncirculated.

Obverse: portrait of Ernesto "Che" Guevara under the caption "Precursor del trabajo voluntario" (Precursor of voluntary work). Reverse: Che himself cutting sugar cane in a cane field, a scene commemorating his participation in voluntary agricultural work days following the triumph of the Revolution.

This is the 1986 ordinary issue, prior to the 2004 commemorative reissue with the same design but more vivid colors. The Che banknote is, along with the 1-peso note featuring José Martí, the most iconic in contemporary Cuban numismatics and is usually the first piece sought by any collector interested in Cuba.
