20,000 Colombian Pesos Oro banknote, issued by the Banco de la República in 2003, Pick 454g. Certified by PMG with a grade of 64, uncirculated.

Obverse: Portrait of astronomer, mathematician, and engineer Julio Garavito Armero, alongside the Moon and an optically variable ink patch that changes from green to gold. Reverse: The Earth as seen from the lunar surface, selenite crater formations, and the Liberty Seal of the Banco de la República, in a set of violet, green, and tan tones.

Garavito, the first Colombian to accurately calculate the mass of the Moon, also has a lunar crater named in his honor, which reinforces the thematic coherence of this banknote between the person and the graphic motif. It is a highly sought-after denomination by collectors of Colombian banknotes dedicated to figures of science.
