500 Colombian gold pesos banknote, issued by the Banco de la República on October 12, 1990, Pick 431. Certified by PMG with a grade of 65 EPQ (Gem Uncirculated), exceptional paper quality, uncirculated and encapsulated in its sealed holder.

Obverse: portrait of General Francisco de Paula Santander, "the man of laws," accompanied by the Constitution and a quill pen on an inkwell, alluding to his role as the legal organizer of the nascent republic. Reverse: the coat of arms of Colombia, the seal with the head of Liberty, and a view of the courtyard of the Bogotá Mint with its fountain and a coining press, in memory of the origin of the national currency.

Santander was featured on several series of 20th-century Colombian banknotes, and this version of the 500 gold pesos, with its historical composition on coinage, appeals to both collectors who gather banknotes by historical figure and those who collect by numismatic theme within numismatics itself.
