Obverse: the six historical leaders of the National Liberation Front known as the "Heroes of the Revolution": Rabah Bitat, Mostefa Ben Boulaid, Didouche Mourad, Mohamed Boudiaf, Krim Belkacem, and Larbi Ben M'Hidi. Reverse: a foggara, the traditional underground water channeling system, in the town of Beni Fought, near Adrar, next to the Numidian mausoleum of Medracen, near Batna. The watermark shows Emir Abdelkader.
