50 quetzales banknote issued by the Bank of Guatemala with an approval date of March 15, 2023, uncirculated (UNC) and cataloged as Pick 125. Printed by Oberthur Fiduciaire.

Obverse: the portrait of Carlos O. Zachrisson, Minister of Finance and leader of the monetary and banking reform of 1923-1926, over a stepped pyramid, with a flying quetzal, a Mayan figure, the flag of Guatemala, and a color-shifting coffee bean. Reverse: the "Coffee Harvest" scene, featuring a group of pickers working among coffee trees in front of a volcano.

The reform led by Zachrisson gave Guatemala the quetzal as its monetary unit and a central bank, so this banknote is, in a way, a tribute from the currency to its own origin. The reverse commemorates the crop that sustained the country's economy for generations, which also makes it attractive to those who collect agricultural or coffee-themed banknotes.
