2000 rupee banknote issued by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka dated August 28, 2025, uncirculated (UNC) and cataloged as Pick 131. It is the commemorative issue for the 75th anniversary of the central bank, with the motto "Stability for Prosperity".

Obverse: the headquarters of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka in Colombo and, in front of it, the Colombo clock tower and lighthouse, with a stylized city skyline, the "75 Years" emblem, and a windowed security thread. Reverse: vertical design, a map of Sri Lanka formed by circles and a blue water lily in the foreground, with the anniversary emblem.

The Central Bank of Sri Lanka began operations on August 28, 1950, and the banknote bears the exact date of its 75th anniversary. It also revives the 2000 rupee denomination, absent from the current series, and combines a horizontal obverse with a vertical reverse, which is unusual in the country's numismatics. A very attractive piece for those who collect central bank commemoratives or Asian banknotes.
