20 soles banknote issued by the Central Reserve Bank of Peru dated December 15, 2022, uncirculated (UNC). It belongs to the new family of banknotes that the BCRP put into circulation for the Bicentennial of the Independence of Peru.

Obverse: a portrait of the writer and anthropologist José María Arguedas against a background of geometric patterns of Andean tradition, with the large number "20" and the word "Perú" vertically. Reverse: vertical design featuring the head of an Andean condor in the foreground and another condor in flight, with the cantuta flower and the national coat of arms of Peru.

Arguedas (1911-1969), author of "Deep Rivers" and "All the Bloods," is one of the great figures of Peruvian literature and the main literary bridge between the Quechua Andean world and the Spanish language. The condor, the emblematic bird of the Andes, and the cantuta, the national flower of Peru, make this banknote one of the most representative designs in the series.
