100 soles banknote issued by the Central Reserve Bank of Peru dated December 16, 2021, uncirculated (UNC). It belongs to the new family of banknotes released by the BCRP to commemorate the Bicentennial of the Independence of Peru.

Obverse: a portrait of scientist Pedro Paulet against a background of geometric patterns inspired by Andean tradition, with the large number "100" and the word "Perú" written vertically. Reverse: a vertical design featuring a marvelous spatuletail hummingbird in the foreground and another in flight, alongside the Phragmipedium kovachii orchid and the national coat of arms of Peru.

Pedro Paulet (1874-1945) is considered one of the pioneers of liquid-fuel rocket propulsion and the space age. The marvelous spatuletail hummingbird, a species endemic to northern Peru, and the kovachii, one of the most spectacular orchids in the world, make this banknote a highly sought-after piece for collectors of bird and flora themes.
