5-dinar banknote issued by the Central Bank of Tunisia dated March 20, 2013, Uncirculated (UNC) and cataloged as Pick 95.

Obverse: the bust of Hannibal, the Carthaginian general, before a view of the Punic port of Carthage with its circular dock, with inscriptions in Arabic and a band featuring a miniature bust and the map of Tunisia. Reverse: three square-rigged Carthaginian ships at sea, with the inscription "Navires carthaginois" and the name of the bank in French.

Hannibal Barca, the man who crossed the Alps with his elephants and kept Rome in check during the Second Punic War, is the most universal figure in Tunisian history, and Carthage, whose ruins are located on the outskirts of the capital, is a World Heritage site. It forms a series with the 10-dinar note of the same date, and is a highly sought-after piece for collectors of ancient history and ship-themed banknotes.
