South Arabia 5 Riyals P43 2020 UNC

Saudi 5 riyals banknote issued by the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA), printed date 2020 (1441 AH), uncirculated (UNC), cataloged as Pick 43. It is Saudi Arabia's first polymer banknote, issued in October 2020.

Obverse: portrait of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud wearing the traditional headpiece (ghutra and agal), next to the facilities of the Shaybah oil field, the denomination in Arabic and a large numeral 5. On the left, the transparent window characteristic of polymer, with the Saudi Vision 2030 logo, and a rosette with the number 5.

Reverse: a meadow of wildflowers (daisies and pink and purple flowers) beneath golden hills, the national emblem of the palm tree and two crossed swords, the year 2020, the denomination "Five Riyals" and, on the right, the transparent window with the Vision 2030 logo.

It retains the design and purple color of the 2016-2017 5 riyal paper issue, but on a polymer substrate that better withstands heat and wear, and with new security features such as the transparent window. A highly sought-after piece by polymer banknote collectors and those who collect Gulf issues.
