Obverse: portrait of Marco Aurelio Soto, reformer of the Republic (1876), and the coat of arms of Honduras. Reverse: Tigre Island and the port town of Amapala, with the volcano in the background.

Marco Aurelio Soto was president of Honduras from 1876 to 1883 and drove the country's liberal reform; according to the note itself, he inaugurated his government in Amapala.
