Obverse: portrait of Chief Obafemi Awolowo (1909-1987) with the green holographic seal. Reverse: a scene of dancers and traditional figures, cowrie shells and geometric motifs, with the 1914-2014 centenary legend.

Obafemi Awolowo was one of the great figures of Nigerian nationalism and premier of the former Western Region.
