100 hryvnia banknote (100 гривень) from the National Bank of Ukraine, printed date 2022, uncirculated (UNC), cataloged as Pick 126.

Obverse: portrait of Taras Shevchenko, with a serene face and forward gaze, next to a painter's palette with brushes, recalling his role as an artist. To the right are the verses "Свою Україну любіть, любіть її… Во время люте, в остатню тяжкую минуту за неї Господа моліть", from his poem "І мертвим, і живим…", on a soft-toned landscape background.

Reverse: the historic building of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, with its columned facade, engraved in reddish tones, and the year 2022 printed at the bottom.

Taras Shevchenko (1814–1861) is Ukraine's most revered poet and painter and a symbol of its national identity; his verses have accompanied the country for generations. The university depicted on the reverse, founded in 1834 in Kyiv, has borne his name since 1939. A highly illustrative banknote from the current hryvnia series.
