Obverse: portrait of General José María Orellana, President of the Republic (1921-1926), during whose government the quetzal was created, with a quetzal perched on a column, the 2024 holographic seal, and a pyramid of Tikal. Reverse: the headquarters building of the Bank of Guatemala and the inscription "One hundred years of the quetzal as the national currency. A century accompanying a nation".
