Bank of Russia 5000-ruble banknote, printed in 2023, uncirculated (UNC), cataloged as Pick 279.

Obverse: the city skyline of Yekaterinburg with the border between Europe and Asia, a historic building on the right, a QR code, and a circular motif in color-shifting ink. Reverse: the large "Tale of the Urals" (Chelyabinsk) sculpture of a man in a cape, a steel mill, pine trees, oil pump towers, and a map of the Ural Federal District.

The new 5000-ruble banknote, the highest denomination in the series, entered circulation on October 16, 2023, and is dedicated to the Urals, the industrial region that marks the border between Europe and Asia. It replaces the 1997 design featuring the Muravyov-Amursky monument in Khabarovsk.
