Saudi Arabian 5 riyal banknote issued by the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA), printed in 2016, uncirculated (UNC), cataloged as Pick 38a.

Obverse: portrait of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud wearing the traditional headdress (ghutra and agal), with oil installations in the background, the denomination in Arabic and a large numeral 5, on a background of geometric patterns in violet tones and a decorative rosette with the 5 on the left.

Reverse: a landscape of hills with a meadow of wildflowers (daisies and pink and violet flowers), the national emblem of the palm tree and two crossed swords, the name of the issuer in English, the denomination "Five Riyals" and the year 2016.

It belongs to the sixth series of Saudi Arabian banknotes, put into circulation starting in 2016 with the portrait of King Salman, who ascended to the throne in 2015. Oil, the theme of the obverse, is the backbone of the country's economy. A paper banknote, in horizontal format and soft colors, highly sought after by collectors of Gulf issues.
