Old banknotes and coins in Las Regueras
Las Regueras is a rural council just a stone's throw from Oviedo. Although the city is close, you don't need to come down with your albums: I will come to you.
The items most commonly found in houses in this part of central Asturias are:
- silver coins from weddings, christenings, and fairs
- old banknotes kept in books and folders
- collections of pesetas mounted in albums
You choose: I go to you or you come to me
- I will come to your home at no cost. First, send me a few photos via WhatsApp; I will reply the same day and, if there is anything worth looking at, we will arrange a time that suits you best to meet in Santullano, Valduno, Premoño, or wherever you live. We’ll look at them together, and if you accept the offer, I will transfer the money on the spot.
- You come to my shop in Gijón. Calle Cabrales 77, next to Parque de Begoña. Please request an appointment beforehand so we can review them without rush, using a magnifying glass and good light; you will leave knowing exactly what you have and how much I will pay for it.
I will tell you upfront: most of what is found in homes are pesetas and very common coins, and with few exceptions, only perfect examples are worth anything. That is why I ask for photos first. Items that are worth showing: 19th and early 20th-century Bank of Spain banknotes, local Civil War banknotes from Asturias, gold and silver coins, and large collections.
