Numismatics in Cudillero: appraisal and purchase of old banknotes and coins
Compartir
There is no need to look for a coin shop in Cudillero open to the public here: I buy old banknotes and coins, collections, and inheritances throughout the Cudillero council, and I will come to see them at your home without charging you for the visit. You can also come to my shop in Gijon, at Calle Cabrales 77.

I am Fran, from Iberoamericana Banknotes, a coin shop in Gijon and an authorized PMG dealer. I will explain piece by piece what you have before offering you anything.
Old banknotes and coins in Cudillero
Cudillero is one of the best-known fishing villages in Asturias. Fishing and immigrant families often keep coins and banknotes that have not been looked at for decades.
What appears most often in homes in this coastal and fishing area:
- pesetas from the years of the port and the cannery
- some silver coins from weddings or baptisms
- banknotes and coins brought back by sailors and emigrants
Two ways to show me your collection
- Come to my shop in Gijon. Calle Cabrales 77, next to Begoña Park. Ask for an appointment first and we will review it without rush, with a magnifying glass and good lighting; you will leave knowing what you have and how much I will give you.
- I will go to your home, at no cost. First, send me a few photos via WhatsApp; I will reply the same day, and if there is anything worthwhile, we will meet in Cudillero, Soto de Luiña, Oviñana, or wherever you live, at a time that works best for you. We will look at it together, and if you accept the offer, I will transfer the payment on the spot.
I will tell you before anything else: most of what is found in homes are pesetas and very common coins, and with few exceptions, only perfect specimens are worth anything. That is why I ask for photos first. What is worth showing: Bank of Spain banknotes from the 19th and early 20th centuries, local Civil War banknotes from Asturias, silver and gold coins, and large collections. You have more details on which banknotes and peseta coins have value.
