Numismatics in Candás: I buy antique banknotes, coins, and collections
Compartir
There is no need to look for a coin shop in Candás open to the public here: I buy old banknotes and coins, collections, and inheritances in Candás and throughout the council of Carreño, and I will come to see them at your home without charging for the visit. You can also come to my shop in Gijón, located at Calle Cabrales 77.

I am Fran, from Iberoamericana Banknotes (Gijón), an authorized PMG dealer. I look at the items with you present and tell you what each one is before we talk about money.
Old banknotes and coins in Candás
Candás is a fishing and cannery town, and in many homes in Carreño, you can still find traces of those who worked at sea or emigrated. That is why, in addition to pesetas, you often find foreign banknotes and coins brought from other ports or sent from America. You are just a step away from Gijón, but there is no need to take your car with the albums: I will go to Candás or any parish in Carreño.
What appears most often in homes in this industrial and coastal area:
- loose old banknotes in cookie tins
- pesetas from the years of the factory and the shipyard
- inherited silver coins
Two ways to show me your collection
- I will come to your house, for free and with no obligation. You send me photos via WhatsApp, I will reply in less than 24 hours, and if it is worth it, I will come to Candás, Perlora, Prendes, or wherever you live, on a day that works for you. I will check everything in your presence, and if we reach an agreement, I will pay you on the spot via bank transfer.
- You come to my shop in Gijón. Calle Cabrales 77, next to Parque de Begoña. Make an appointment first, and we will review them without rush, with a magnifying glass and good light; you will leave knowing what you have and how much I will pay you.
I will tell you right away: most of what is in houses are very common pesetas and coins, and except for rare exceptions, only perfect specimens are worth anything. That is why I ask for photos first. What is worth showing: Bank of Spain banknotes from the 19th and early 20th centuries, local Civil War banknotes in Asturias, silver and gold coins, and large collections. You have more details on which peseta banknotes and coins have value.
Send me photos via WhatsApp: I will come to your house or give you an appointment at my shop in Gijón
