Numismatics in Cangas de Onís: I buy banknotes, coins, and antique collections
Compartir
Do you have old banknotes, coins, or a relative's collection and can't find a numismatist in Cangas de Onís? I provide appraisals throughout the Cangas de Onís council: I will visit your home for free after seeing some photos via WhatsApp, or I can give you an appointment at my shop in Gijón.

I am Fran, from Iberoamericana Banknotes, a numismatic shop in Gijón and an authorized PMG dealer. I explain what you have piece by piece before making you any offer.
Old banknotes and coins in Cangas de Onís
Cangas de Onís, with its Roman bridge and Covadonga just a step away, is the gateway to the Picos de Europa. In the east, there was significant emigration to the Americas, and banknotes and coins from that era remain in many homes.
What appears most often in homes in this eastern area:
- inherited silver coins
- banknotes and coins from the Americas, from the "indiano" houses
- old pesetas in family albums
How we look at them: at your home or in my shop
- Come to my shop in Gijón. Calle Cabrales 77, next to Parque de Begoña. Request an appointment beforehand and we will review them without rush, using a magnifying glass and good light; you will leave knowing what you have and how much I offer.
- I will come to your home, free and with no obligation. You send me photos via WhatsApp, I reply in less than 24 hours, and if it is worthwhile, I will go to Cangas de Onís, Covadonga, Soto de Cangas, or wherever you live, on a day that suits you. I check everything in front of you and, if we reach an agreement, I pay you on the spot via bank transfer.
An honest warning: most of what is kept at home is very common material, and only perfect specimens without folds or stains are worth anything (look at them with a side light, almost grazing the paper, and you will see). What is truly of interest: Bank of Spain banknotes from the 19th and early 20th centuries, local Civil War banknotes from Asturias, gold and silver coins, and complete collections.
