5 Cuban peso banknote from the National Bank of Cuba, dated 1990, Pick 103d, certified by PMG with a grade of 45, Choice Extremely Fine: very good condition, with slight signs of circulation.

Obverse: portrait of Antonio Maceo, Lieutenant General of the Liberation Army, under the legend "Cuba will be an eternal Baraguá". Reverse: the meeting between Maceo and the Spanish General Arsenio Martínez Campos at Mangos de Baraguá, a scene known as the Protest of Baraguá, among hammocks and soldiers.

The Baraguá episode symbolizes the rejection of the Pact of Zanjón and the continuity of the struggle for independence, a motif very present in Cuban iconography. An affordable banknote within the classic peso series, suitable for both the thematic collector and those starting to build a set by denomination.
