20 dinar banknote issued by the Central Bank of Libya, undated and released into circulation in 2025, printed on polymer, Uncirculated (UNC), and cataloged as Pick 87. This is the first polymer version of the denomination and is a REPLACEMENT banknote.

Obverse: with legends in Arabic, the Al-Atiq Mosque of Awjila, with its characteristic conical mud-brick domes among palm trees, and a large transparent window featuring the portrait of Omar al-Mukhtar. Reverse: with legends in English, a school in the old city of Ghadames, with its architecture of white-walled, peak-topped buildings, and the same window viewed from the other side.

The banknote brings together two of the most unique examples of Libyan desert architecture: the Awjila mosque, one of the oldest in the Sahara, and the oasis city of Ghadames, a World Heritage site. Omar al-Mukhtar, leader of the resistance against the Italian occupation and national hero, is the most frequently depicted figure in Libyan numismatics. A very striking novelty for polymer and African collections.
